There are always many great reasons to visit Gordon Square on Cleveland’s West side. These days even more so, as you can right now see a number of great new murals being made.
The neighborhood makeover is organized by Gordon Square Arts District , Land Studio and Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization and is sponsored by the Cleveland Foundation, the City of Cleveland Casino Revenue Fund, Cleveland Councilman Matt Zone, Hilton, The David and Inez Myers Foundation, American Greetings and Sherwin-Williams.
Walking along Detroit Ave. from the Centers for Families and Children (W52nd st) to Banter Beer and Wine (W74th st) you will find 8 new murals by the following artists:
- Jessie Unterhalter & Katey Truhn
- Darius Steward
- Dante Rodriquez
- Ish Muhammad Nieves & Eileen Dorsey
- Lisa Quine
- Justin Michael Will
- Ryan Jaenke aka the visitors bureau, and
- Matthew Sweeney
And if you want to say hi to some of the artists and see them work, you need to get going, as they all plan to be done by the end of May.
