Going to Cleveland for a long weekend? There is always something going on. Especially over the summer. Here are a number of recurrent events that we love and think you should check out when in the area:
Edgewater Live
Every Thursday from May to August head to the beach and enjoy the music at Edgewater Park. The event is organized by Cuyahoga Community College’s Arts Programme, and it features local or regional bands. You can chill by the lake, stroll onto the pier or join the dancing crowd in the stage area. And yes, there’s food trucks too.
Asian Night Market
Cleveland has a small China Town on the East side. Let’s be honest, it’s a rundown part of town, but you will find nice food and great Asian grocery stores here. And best of all, every last Friday of the month, from June to September, an amazing Asien Night Market pops up on Rockwell Ave. & E 21st St. There is food, vendors and Asian entertainment – and yes, there’s grilled squid too.
Cleveland Flea
Also starting in June and running through to October you can, every 2nd Saturday of the month, shop till you drop at the Cleveland Flea Market. You find it at 3615 Superior Avenue. The flea does a good job sourcing good quality local vendors. And yes there’s food trucks. Not in Cleveland over the summer. Check the Flea calendar, they do also scheduled holiday fleas.
Farmers Market
Sunday is for Farmers Market. Or no, actually in North East Ohio every day seems to be Farmers Market Day. But a Sunday favorite is the market in Chagrin Falls, located right in the heart of the cute old town at Band Stand Triangle Park. The market is there every Sunday from June to October 10 am to 1 pm.
SlowRoll Mondays
And finally but not least, of course we do love Slow Roll Mondays. And after a long weekend of eating and shopping you really do need at bike ride. So find a bike. University Hospital could be a place to rent one. The slow rollers meet in a new location around Cleveland every Monday at 7pm. It’s a great way to get to know different neighborhoods in and around the city. The bike ride is for all ages and they try to ride year round, weather permitting. Slow Roll Cleveland’s Instagram account is a great place to stay updated on locations and schedules.
